Avv. Prof. Giorgio De Nova is Professor Emeritus of Private Law at the University of Milan.
He founded Studio Legale De Nova in 1990.

Since 1978, Avv. Prof. Giorgio De Nova has been responsible for the annual edition of the Civil Code and Related Laws for Zanichelli.
He is a member of the Italian Association of Comparative Law, of the Association Capitant, of the Italian Association of Arbitration.
He is a corresponding member of Unidroit.
Avv. Prof. Giorgio De Nova is the editor of Rivista Trimestrale di Diritto e Procedura Civile, Rivista Critica del Diritto Privato, Rivista di Diritto Privato, Rivista dell’Arbitrato, Trusts, and Diritto del Commercio Internazionale.
He is editor of Commentario Scialoja Branca Galgano.
His activity as Arbitrator or President of Arbitral Tribunals has been performed, and continues to be performed, both in national and international proceedings with reference to more than 300 disputes. As for consultancy, he has always had the opportunity to render opinions that are used in the most important disputes and to draft contracts of significant importance; as for litigation, he has always had the opportunity to deal with issues of particular difficulty and complexity.
In 2008 he was awarded by the City of Milan with the Ambrogino d’Oro, with the following motivation: “A renowned jurist, he is one of Italy’s best-known experts on private law. A full professor at the Università Statale di Milano, he is author of a number of publications. He combines an encyclopaedic juridical culture with a forensic activity in which he distinguishes himself for his prestigious role in arbitration proceedings at an international level. A passionate scholar, every year since 1978 he has edited the annotated edition of the Civil Code and related laws, a valuable tool for all legal practitioners who look at it to find stimulus and support for their work”.
